Though ostensibly more thrash than metalcore nowadays, this consistently high-charting Welsh band doesn't do much to disguise its screamo tendencies on its fifth album. "Skin" and "Playing God" show heavy hints of '80s axe drama, and "Pariah" and banging bonus closer "Raising Hell" make for moderately convincing Metallica mimicry. But those are exceptions, amid all the red-faced moshpit conniption fits and deeply felt sob stories about unaccepted apologies. There are goth touches and Offspring-style backup, too -- and the title cut even opens with a vaguely funky/Zeppy/dubby dance pulse.
